    Buyers Guide

    1. We would recommend all potential buyers to come and view the items in person before purchasing as all items are sold as seen.  (Note that being able to view in person does not apply to our Specialist online sales as condition reports etc can be provided).  Bloomfield Auctions are one of the few auction houses to provide 3 viewing days, being Saturday 10.30am-1pm, Monday 10am-7pm & Tuesday 10am-6pm.
    2. After viewing, should you be interested in purchasing you will need to register with the Auction staff by purchasing your catalogue and bidding number for £1.  Once you have done this, you are now free to bid.
    3. At Bloomfield Auctions, there are three ways to bid.
      1. Be here on the night of the auction and bid by placing your catalogue in the air
      2. Leave a commission bid with staff.  In other words, you can leave your maximum bid for an item that you are interested in.  The bid will be registered and will be used on the night of the auction.
      3. Request a telephone bid.  This applies to items only over £30.  We will telephone you as your item approaches and you will bid over the phone as if you were in the room.
    4. If you are successful in purchasing an item, the item must be paid and removed from our premises either on the Tuesday night of the sale or the next before 5 pm.  If this does not happen, Bloomfield Auctions and the vendor reserve the right to place the item(s) back into the auction.
    5. Payment can be made in cash, debit/credit card or online transfer.
    6. Please note when purchasing, there is a 15% commission charge subject to VAT at the prevailing rate to be paid.
    7. If you purchase a large piece that you cannot transport, Bloomfield Auctions do work in partnership with a courier firm who’s services we recommend and have been working with for over 15 years.  Costs apply.
    8. Please note that the auction commences every Tuesday at 6.30pm.

    Sellers Guide

    1. Obtain a valuation on your items by contacting Bloomfield Auctions by telephone or email.  After having this conversation, it will be ascertained as regards to whether a valuer will come out to your home or property of where the items are, or you bring the items down to our premises or you should email photos of the items.
    2. Upon the valuer inspecting the items, he/she will be able to inform you as regards to if they are saleable, the potential value and whether or not a reserve should be placed.
    3. Should all parties be agreeable to selling the items, the valuer will then decide which sale the items will be placed to obtain maximum value.  At times Bloomfield Auctions conducts specialist online sales which the valuer may decide to keep for such an occasion and if not it will go into our weekly auction which takes place every Tuesday commencing at 6.30pm.
    4. If the lots are sold on a general Tuesday evening sale and we have been paid for the items, then you as the vendor are paid your money on the Friday of the same week.  We open for payment on a Friday from 10am-2pm, however, if you are unable to make it down, we can send out a cheque or conduct an online transfer.
    5. Should an item not sell, we will contact you regarding how we move forward.  It could be by placing it back into the next auction, it could be to reduce the reserve if an item has one, it could be to dispose of an item if we see fit or it could be to arrange you to come and collect again.
    6. If an item is too big for you to transport to auction, we do have a partnership with a courier firm who has been working with Bloomfield Auctions for over 15 years.  We can give you their details for you or us to arrange.  Costs apply.
    7. Please note that all items sold are subject to commission, insurance & VAT at the agreed rate.  VAT is charged as Government directs.
